For Parents: The Parentcator Lectures |
||
|
CourseDescription: Supporting a student within a Montessori environment requires a number of moving parts. One part is the prepared environment, one is the student, another is the educator, and, importantly, the parent in the role of "parentcator." The most crucial is that parentcators understand their role is to support the child’ school experience. But how does this work exactly? Dr. Czaja seeks to answer this question in a series of 10 videos for parents. Video topics include discussions of how parents are a child’s primary educator, multiple intelligences, experiential education in a Montessori setting, child centered education, stages of child development, communication with children, responding to behavioral cues as a form of communication, and becoming an observant parent. The videos were filmed at Island Village Montessori as Dr. Czaja held parent seminars to educate parents on their roles as “parentcators.” The course is available to all parents everywhere for $100. It is self-paced, but allows for parents to ask questions and make comments to our staff at Montessori Live. The course can be started at any time and will stay open for a period of 40 days. Tuition: $100.00 USD |
