Certification and Accreditation

Montessori Live is an innovative teacher training program for Montessori teachers all over the world. At this time, we have some courses available so that Montessori teachers may take advantage of them as soon as possible.

    Our purpose is to make Montessori training more adult-friendly, especially for those who reside long distances from an accredited training center. We are working with MACTE to make accreditation of our courses a reality. Montessori Live currently offers certificates for professional development credits.

    For many Montessori teachers, the main purpose of educating oneself is to be able to improve one’s ability to work with the students. The tuition for our courses is fairly priced for the intention of providing such professional development.

    Each participant will receive a certificate of completion that will summarize the requirements for each course. We have posted an example of the Foundations course for review. Each participant will be able to apply for professional development credits in their district. Montessori Live will work with each participant to verify information required by any institution regarding our courses. In foreign countries, the same information applies.

    At this time, the Montessori teacher training organizations do not recognize distance learning in their accreditation procedures. However, MACTE is currently working on a model to change this. Montessori Live may have to develop a face-to-face component at our home school, Island Village Montessori, in Venice, Florida, in order to satisfy MACTE and AMS requirements for certification of teachers.

    We welcome inquiries by any university or college who can convey university credit for participation in our programs. We believe that our standards hold up to any current online course available anywhere.
